Laksa KingExcellentLaksa King4.4 Based on 6266 reviews fromSee all reviews review us on ★★★★★ Best Laksa I’ve had yet! Great vibe. Really well priced.Alexis W. ★★★★★ Laksa King is one of my favourite Malaysian restaurants in Melbourne, especially in this vibrant, working-class neighbourhood.Service is fast and genuinely friendly, and the menu is extensive. They’re particularly known for their noodle soups, which honestly have nothing to envy from good ramen — deep, rich broths and generous portions. The open kitchen is always hectic and alive, adding to the atmosphere. Portions are very generous: with three dishes (four if you add rice, which I did to pair with the pork belly), we were more than satisfied. The pork belly, recommended by the chef, was outstanding. We also had pipis, absolutely sublime — slightly spicy sauce with delicate rice noodle touches that really worked emotionally and technically. The chicken skewers were a bit on the dry side, but the sauce balanced them out nicely.Street parking can be tricky, but there’s an easier option just past the railway bridge — a short walk that leads you straight into a temple of Malaysian food culture.Important to note:The kitchen closes at 9pm, and about 15 minutes before closing they’ll check if you want to order anything else — the bill usually arrives promptly after. No bookings available, so be ready to queue and wait your turn like everyone else has been doing here for years.Sunday surcharge applies (expected), but $97 total for two people including two drinks — money very well spent.Rating: 8/10A must-try if you’re exploring Melbourne’s food scene.Giuseppe S. ★★★★★ The food was absolutely delicious, with generous portions at a very reasonable price. Everything tasted fresh and comforting.A special thanks to Mimi for her wonderful service—she was so kind and attentive, and she really made our dinner special. This would be perfect for a winter night.Service was also very good. The only thing was the toilet, quite smelly. Sungil P. ★★★★★ The place is always so busy and the food is always amazingFran W ★★★★★ We come here regularly for dinner and I never stray from my usual chicken curry laksa. We are always served within a few minutes of sitting down and the food never takes longer than 5 minutes to come out.Michael W. ★★★★★ Honestly one of the best laksa spots. There is a reason why there is so many reviews. Legit 30 staff pumping and the quality doesn’t drop. I would recommend any friends or family to this placeJohny ★★★★★ Laksa King is one of the few restaurants we keep coming back. Lovely staff. Great food that arrived lightning fast. Generous serves and well priced. We'll be back!Lifestyle Alchemy With Fiona J ★★★★★ Amazing Laksa, Nasi Goreng, Singapore Noodles, and especially good: are the Curry Puffs. It is a little on the expensive side but more, extra more, than worth it. Just so you know how good it is, people from all across the city come here. It is always so busy. I have been going here for a few years and only eaten in once or twice - opting for eating at home. Definitely worth a visit - whether you are close or far away. It is on a tram line, so that should help. There is little parking so be prepared to park on Eastwood St.N.D. C. ★★★★★ Real good place. The laksa are the highlights, quick and tasty with variety options. Apart from that they have a decent good asian menu as well with a very good price tag and decent time frame of wait.Rexsen Roy M. ★★★★★ Fantastic Laksa. Have been going here for years. Quality of food has never changed, generous servings and fast service. It's an eat and then move on situation, but have never actually been moved on.The laksa is so good, have never tried anything else. Can get pretty noisy and seats are close together.Book ahead as its really popular and always busy.Cindy J. ★★★★★ What really makes this place special, beyond the delicious Malaysian food, is the service. Eric and the team were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and attentive, which made the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended.Kevin K. ★★★★★ Always great for a seafood curry laksa and Har-Mee. Worth a stop in for lunch or dinnerMichael B. ★★★★★ Can also highly recommend takeaway laksa king at Pin Oak Wine Bar - the best food with the best wineElspeth T. ★★★★★ Always a great meal. Any of the curry laksas are great and we also enjoyed the dry chicken curry noodles. Table ordering via QR code now. You can order online for pickup. Parking can be a challenge in the area, be careful of permit zones.Emily K ★★★★★ The fish fillet laksa and duck fried rice were delicious, and the portions were huge. These Chinese Malaysian’s cuisine is the great one. Recommended !!!Pimpin Nagawan, S. ★★★★★ Laksa King is one of those places we keep coming back to -it feels comforting, generous, and consistently delicious every single time. It reminds our family of hawker-style food in Malaysia or Singapore in the 1980s -that home-style X-factor, made with an auntie’s loving touch. Our absolute favourites are the Satay Ayam (rich, fragrant, and perfectly balanced with a special peanut sauce), the Singapore noodles (full of flavour and beautifully cooked with shrimp, egg, and chopped tofu), the vegetarian spring rolls (crisp, light, and hitting the spot every time), and the tofu hot pot, which is deeply nourishing and packed with fresh snow peas, mushrooms, and the goodness that only homemade tofu possesses. Every dish tastes like it’s been made with care and authentic flair. What truly elevates the experience, though, is the atmosphere and the people. Eric, the owner-manager, always comes over to say hello, and his caring, vibrant energy makes you feel genuinely welcome. It’s rare to find a place where the food is this good and the hospitality feels so heartfelt. My 91-year-old mum always forgets the name of the restaurant but calls it, “you know… Eric’s place!”Laksa King is a favourite for a reason -wonderful food, warm service, and a place that feels like home. We always leave wickedly sated and happy, already planning our next visit.Yanti A. ★★★★★ Good food options right at the Glen Waverley station.Anupam D. ★★★★★ Probably the best fish head curry laksa in Melbourne. Let me tell you why. Firstly, there is a generous amount of fish head so much so that you'll hit your daily protein requirements. The broth is perfect, more on the creamier side and a nice touch of curry. Always consistent with quality and is my weekly staple treat. I don't think you can find this quality fish head curry laksa. If you do please let me know, but remember it has to have generous amounts of fish head.Lex X. ★★★★★ Best seafood laksa curry. Very generous seafood portions, well balanced laksa curry and perfectly cooked noodles ❤️Christine T. ★★★★★ Very impressed with the laksa, bold flavours with just the perfect amount of spice. I had the seafood laksa. It had a good ratio of noodles, seafood and broth. The variety of seafood was good, decent sized prawns and pieces of fish. What I believe would make this laksa next level... use another variety of white flesh fish with a better texture and dish it with scallops that include the roe to add the richness and eating experience of this dish.Michael K. ★★★★★ Amazing food at Laksa King in Glen Waverley. Would recommend to others looking for a nice meal or a filling Laksa!Ellen W. ★★★★★ This place is known for its Laksa. I always come here for the Fish Head Curry Laksa. It's not for everyone as it does get a bit of effort to pick out the pieces. If you love the taste you wouldn't mind 😁Yun P. ★★★★★ Best Beef Rendang I’ve ever had by far.Quick efficient service and prices are reasonable too.Keep up the great work guys will be back with the family for sure!Tony C. ★★★★★ 5 minutes from sit down to being served.Great foodJake C. ★★★★★ Their seafood laksa is very good and filling. There are fish fillets, scallops, prawn and squid in it. Rich coconut broth too.Marcus C. ★★★★★ Lovely staff, great laksa and broths, great portion sizes and amazing prices! Definitely a go to if you want that authentic flavour. 10/10Bianca D.js_loader
